Description: The project team is working to collect and deliver new and used computers to state care homes
for children deprived of parental care. The project aims to familiarise children and teenagers with
computer programs and functions so that the computer literacy they receive can serve them in their
future education or work.
Selected project objectives. The project aims to teach the children how to:
Search for information (e.g. addresses, jobs when they leave the state care home , etc.).
Send and receive e-mails
Work with MicroSoft Office programs (e.g. create a CV for job applications using MS Word)
Communicate with others in different cities
Participate in online computer literacy training courses for children delivered over the Internet
How Can You Help / Participate in the Project
If you have a working desktop or laptop computer (as a minimum Windows XP-compatible), color
monitor, printer or scanner you would like to donate please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each donated computer will be recorded in a donation protocol at the home, and the donation will
be published on the “Merciful” website.
The actual delivery of computers and peripherals can be done in any of the following ways:
You as a benefactor can take it to your selected care home - for us this is the easiest way :-)
Take it to the address of our volunteers who will organize the delivery
We will come and take it from your location at a mutually convenient time agreed in advance
From the start of the project we have collected and donated
27 laptop computers, 88 desktop computers and 82 monitors.
We would like to extend our warm and heartfelt thanks and regards to all donors on behalf of the
children at state foster homes.
Project Participants Case Studies
In May 2017, Yanko Georgiev donated 6 laptops to Family-type placement center for children and youth in Plovdiv.
In December 2016 Weissenberg Ltd donated to care home "Petar Dimitrov"2 computers, 2 monitors, a notebook, a TV, 2 boxes of bananas and oranges, soft drinks, sweets, clothes and cosmetics.
In November 2016 Bulgarian Online Research (borsolutions.com) donated 16 computers и 16 monitors to two two sheltered houses in Veliko Tarnovo town. Ganka Grigorova is managing both houses. She is the former director of foster home "Penyo i Mariya Velkovi" ). DHL (dhl.bg) supported the noble-initiative as gratuitous delivered the PCs from Sofia to the centers in Veliko Tarnovo.
In September 2016 Alex Pekaliev donated 3 computer configurations with monitors, 4 laptop, router and 8 headphones to childer from a foster home in Dupnitza town - Olga Stoyanova (en.milostiv.org/218).
In March 2016 we received three donations that will be used for a possible center for work with disadvantaged young people, which we plan to open or if we fail to realize our idea it will be donated to orphanages. The donations are from Tsvetomir Traykov - computer configuration and 17 inch monitor, Atanas Teodosiev - 24 inch monitor and Gabriela Ilieva - about 150 books, mostly historical and classical literature.
In December 2015 Anastas Gyokov and Alex Pekaliev organaise the donation of 5 laptops, 3 computer configurations, projector, printer, router and switch for the childer from a foster home in Doganovo vilage (http://en.milostiv.org/239).
In July 2014 the high-tech digital agency "The Mags" donated 3 computers, 3 monitors and 3 licenses for Windows XP Operating System to the center "St. Petka", which is part of the church "Trinity" in Dobrich town, where 12 children leave.
In June 2013 the technology company Titan Gate Ltd donated 3 computers, 3 monitors and 3 licenses for Windows XP Operating System to the Home for Children Deprived of Parental Care
"Penyo and Mariya Velkovi" in Veliko Tarnovo. Children from the home had only 4 computers available to them prior to this donation.
In October 2013 Bayer Bulgaria, subsidiary of the multinational company Bayer with over 100,000
employees worldwide, donated 10 laptops to the Home for Children Deprived of Parental
Care "Peter Dimitrov" in the village Parvomai near the city of Blagoevgrad . Prior to this donation fifty
children at the home had access to only 2 computers.

In October 2013 the technology company Titan Gate Ltd donated 9 computers, 3 monitors and 3
licenses for Windows XP Operating System to the Home for Children Deprived of Parental Care
(HCDPC) "Princess Nadezhda" in Varna. Children from the home had only one computer available to
them prior to this donation.
In August 2013 Musala Soft, a leading Bulgarian software company, donated 10 computers and 10
monitors to HCDPC Zlatarov.

At the end of December 2012, as a response to our request for help, the NGO “Forum of the Regions” sent 2 computers (including monitors, mouse and keyboards) to care home "Petar Dimitrov" in the Parvomai village.
